Snippet Frames

  • Possibility to place other CHILI documents (snippet) into a master document
  • Create empty snippet frames, or use drag/drop to create a frame with content
  • Various options when adding snippets: 
    • Store reference to original document (updated next time the master document is opened)
    • Save snippet inline in Master Document (allows additional changes to the snippets contents)
    • Convert snippet to individual frames (which can be edited as normal content)
  • Configure Panels to show available snippets: 
    • CHILI Document Management 
      • Show entire directory structure, or start from a specified directory
    • Possibility to link to one of the documents directories (Document, User, User Group)
    • Include sub-directories, or only show images within the specified directory
    • Possibility to allow searching
    • Possibility to configure placement options (dimensions, save inline, convert to frames, .)
  • External Snippets 
    • Connect to existing Content Management solutions without any development on the CHILI side
    • Configure URLs to point to external dynamic pages (php, aspx, .)
    • Get XML from those pages (documented), describing: .Directory structure available to user
    • Snippet description for a specific directory
    • Snippet description for a search query
  • Configure behavior of used snippets in XML structure: 
    • Link to snippet using CHILI document ID
    • Placement options (save inline, dimensions, .)
    • Variable data to be applied to snippet upon placement
  • Drag/drop found documents onto the page to create new frames or replace existing frame contents
  • Possibility to configure a panel to only allow drag/drop on existing snippet frames (Replace Only)
  • Possibility to configure a panel to only allow drag/drop to specific pages
  • Edit Variable Data of selected snippet (if saved inline)
  • Preserve variable data when dragging a new snippet onto a frame
  • Possibility to push color definitions to the placed snippets
  • Possibility to choose the page of the snippet
  • Possibility to choose Alternate Layout for a placed snippet
  • Configure fitting options for snippet
  • Possibility to visualize original and output sizes (and resize percentage)
  • Possibility to convert a placed snippet to individual (editable) frames at any time
