InDesign Extension
- Import Adobe InDesign files using the CHILI Extension
- Log in to a CHILI server or work locally, without connection:
- Upload new document directly to server
- Create a standalone CHILI Package (zip)
- On conversion, include:
- Document settings
- Page Settings
- Page objects
- Fonts (uploaded to server if not existing)
- Images / placed files (upload to server if not existing)
- Preflight warnings for unsupported features in InDesign. For example:
- Tables used
- Unsupported frame effects
- Missing fonts or images
- Unsupported font types
- Connect to any CHILI environment
- Specify location for new document in CHILI
- Specify location for new fonts and/or images
- Convert all pages or a range
- Debug single page items (selected item in the InDesign document) for fast testing
- Utilize Adobe InDesign to prepare previews of assets and the document
- Include or skip hidden layers
- Possibility to "Lock" certain layers:
- All pageitems converted to PDF
- PDF placed in CHILI document
- Usable for high resolution export
- Not editable in CHILI editor, but preserving the full look and graphic properties
- Access extension using menus:
- Window > CHILI Publish Converter (log in or work without connection)
- File > Package for CHILI (only standalone option available)
- Use "standard" CHILI Extension, supplied by CHILI, or customize the Extension to your own brand and workflow:
- Change CHILI Extension preference file (xml) to manipulate logic and appearance
- Change Extension manifest preference file (xml) to change descriptions for installer, menu locations
- Digitally sign the new Extension and preferences and distribute to your customers
- Possible preferences:
- Various color settings (background, labels, .)
- Allow working locally, connect to CHILI server or booth
- Default login settings
- Settings for export to CHILI (most features can be hidden and provided with default values)
- Change description and long description for preflight warnings
