Document Action Triggers
Concept
Document Actions can be called from a variety of locations inside a CHILI Document:
- Document Event Actions
- Variable Actions
- Custom Button Bars
See Action Editor for information on the editor in which these actions are set up.
Document Event Actions
Document Event Actions allow administrators to trigger Document Actions based on Events inside the CHILI Document. Each Document Event Action is attached to one or more events. See ?/wiki/spaces/CPDOC/pages/1413282 for a list and description of the available events.
To increase performance, you can configure the action to be executed asynchronously. The delay is reset every time the event is triggered, and only executed after x milliseconds.
A common use of Document Event Actions is to write a single action which is triggered by changes in variables (so that the action doesn't have to be written in multiple variable "On Change" actions). The "VariableValueChanged" event can be used to trigger this Document Event Action.

Variable Actions
See Variable Document Actions for more infomation on how to trigger Document Actions from inside variables.
Custom Button Bars
Custom buttons can be added either to a ButtonBar toolbar item, or to a ButtonBar variable. In either case, a DocumentAction can be assigned to the buttons in the bar.
