Path Editor
Concept
The path editor allows you to create or edit paths. The path is shown in it's bézier curves with anchor points and handles.
This will allow you to quickly create new shapes to use in your design.
Use of Paths
Paths are used in:
- Shape frames, as the only option for the border
- Text and Image frames, as optional borders
Accessing the Path Editor
Double clicking a shape or hitting the "Edit path" button will open the shape in the path editor.
Via the tools in the menubar you can edit the path, add or delete anchor points and close the path [this will physically close the path so there's is no gap between two end points].
Shape Library
Via the shape library in the environment tab of the document you can organize your different shapes. The shape library is accessible throughout the document to assign shapes to text or image frames.
To add a shape to the library, select the path, in the document, that you want to add. Go to the Shape library in the environment tab and click on the button "Add selected path".
The shape library is available for the entire environment, making it easy to share shapes across documents.
Path editor
Available from
CHILI publisher version 6.x
Template designers can now create custom shapes using the built-in path editor. Shapes can have colors applied to the outline, fill or both, or be used as a mask for images. Additionally, these custom shapes can be saved to the shapes library and repurposed in any template.
