User Levels for Editor Interface

Different User levels

In the editor you will find that we talk about user levels on separate locations.

Throughout the configuration of the WorkSpace, you will find pulldowns with settings referring to "administrators" and "end users" like these:

These settings do not necessarily correspond with administrators in your own portal. Rather, they should be seen as "advanced" or "basic" users.
In most cases, this is very simple: advanced means your own designers/administrators/account managers, whereas basic means any other user logging in through your portal.
Via this menu you can define wether the tab, panel or option will be visible and/or accesible for a user.

  • All will make it visible and available to all user [adminstrators and end users]
  • Administrators offers the functionality only to people with administrator rights
  • *Normal User *will make it visible and available to end users

When you have administrator access you can very easily simulate other user levels with the "WorkSpace Box" toolbar item.

  • End user will simulate the workspace [user interface] that is ?presented to the end user.
  • WorkSpace Administrator will give you access to the full editor interface
  • Content Administrator* *will simulate the workspace that is presented to the Content Administrator

Defining user levels for Tabs, Panels, Toolbars and Options in a Panel or Toolbar

For each Tab, Panel and Toolbar you can define the accessibility for a specific user level. The general pulldown for the user level is explained at the top of the page.
But also for specific options the user level can be defined via a pulldown menu, allowing you to customize the User Interface and experience to the fullest.

  • Yes will show the option to all users
  • No will hide the option for all users
  • Administrators only will show the option only when the user is logged in with administrator privileges.
  • End Users only will show the option only to End Users
