Changing icons

The icons in the interface [toolbars, buttons, ...] can be customized per environment.
Icons can be replaced on a per icon basis, but the entire set can be changed as a whole as well.

In the backoffice, under system > icon sets, you define the different icon sets.

Create a new one with the buttons below the list on the left or make a copy of an existing one.

In the newly created icon set you will find a list of the existing icons which you can replace via the browse button. After uploading your custom icon, it is saved automatically to the icon set.

If you want to replace the entire set you can download all the icons via the button Download All Original Icons. You can easily change the images then but keep the name.
Compress the entire folder and upload it back to the server to update all the icons at once.

The fill color of the icons will be defined by the icon color that is set in the workspace. In the icon list view, this will be the default gray color.

Icons should be prepared with a fill that is different from black and saved without style attributes. In Adobe^® Illustrator^®, this can easily be done by choosing the "SVG Tiny 1.1" profile on save.
When using any other applicataion, please verify if a fill-attribute is added to the svg-xml.

Changes Not Showing?

In CHILI publish 5.6 and greater, the REST calls will be cached for icons by the browser. If you update your icons and you don't see the changes, please clear your browser cache and restart the browser.

Changing texts in the interface

The customer facing interface of CHILI Publisher can be fully translated. Out of the box we support English, French, German and Dutch.
However via the backoffice you can create more languages. Similar to adding another icon set you can create another language via the buttons at the bottom of the window

Once you've created a new language you can base it upon one of the existing ones [one you understand or one the translation agency understands].

Via the section drop down menu you can specify which section and the strings related to that section you want to visualize in the bottom part of the window.
Additionally you can narrow down the search via the Filter field, the Value drop down menu, the Inherited Value drop down menu or the Type drop down menu.
When you want to add custom strings which you want to use in the interface you can use the button Add Custom Strings, or you can import strings from a document which you have created before [f.e. the names of all the variable fields inside a document]

When you want to have all the strings translated by a translation agency you can download either a text or a csv file. Which afterwards can be uploaded again to perform the update.

Once a string is translated you will find the new text in the value field.
