Composed Materials in 3D folding
Concept
Via composed materials you can combine multiple CHILI Publisher documents in one 3D preview. For example a "preprinted" birthday card with an inlay that contains the personalised message.
CHILI Publisher documents can also be combined with assets to enrich the preview of the final product. For example showing a ribbon or seal on the personalised certificate that you've made.
  Â
Creating composed materials
The setup for composed materials can be reached by checking the "Composed Material " checkbox in the "Material source" panel.
Â
First of all, you can set the dimensions of the composed material using the width and height input fields. Then you can start adding resources (assets or documents) to the composed material.
Documents or assets can be added to the front or the back of the Composed Materials document. This will allow for different combinations for the front and the back.
To control working on the front or the back, you can use the toggle button above the resources list or under the preview pane.Â
Under the preview pane, you can also control the visibility of the mask and the folding scheme.
Resources
The resources list shows the resources added to the composed material.
You can use the + or x sign to either import or remove a document or asset
Via the arrow keys the Z-index of the documents and assets can be defined, the highest document in the list will be the top one in the combined view.Â
- Resource path:Â Path to the selected resource.
- Unique name:Â Every document needs to have a unique name, a document can be used multiple times (f.e. a multi-page document) but every instance needs a unique name.Â
- Document identifier:Â Tag that identifies which resource inside the composed materials needs to be replaced by the document which the end-user is editing.
- X position, Y position:Â The position of the selected asset or document in the composed view
- Scale:Â The scale of the selected asset or document in the composed view
- Rotation:Â The rotation of the selected asset or document in the composed view
- Page Number:Â Defines which page to show when a document or asset contains multiple pages.
- Mask:Â A document or asset can have it's own mask defined, besides the mask specified for the folding.
