Creating an animation sequence
Creating an animation sequence
The sequence editor allows you to create an animation sequence. When you choose the Animation tab, the Animation settings panel and the sequence editor is opened.
The easiest way to create a sequence is by pressing the “auto generate” button in the animation settings panel. Clicking this button will create an action for each panel. The start value is the unfolded rotation (start position in the panel settings), the end value is the folded rotation.
Once a default sequence is created, you can tweak the timing and rotation values for each step. Of course one can also create a sequence manually. Via the + and - signs you can add/remove sequences and with the arrow you can move a sequence up or down in the list.
(this doesn't effect the timing of the sequence but helps you organise the sequences)
- Panel dropdown selects the panel to configure the animation
- Time set the duration of the animation [in milli seconds]
- Delay specifies the delay between the previous animation and the start of the next animation
- From ... to ... defines the rotation angle of the selected panel
- Easing: apply effects to the sequence to, for example make the animations or folding of panels smoother. Linear is the default setting.
Set the viewing angle
Via the play button you can preview the animation sequence.
In this window you can change the viewing angle and restart the animation from that perspective.
If you're happy with the viewing angle you can use the button Save as Initial Position to use that view as a start for the animation.
Using camera animations

(Right click on the image and choose full screen to play the movie or click on this link 3D animations movie)
- Camera orbit: positioning of the camera. the document sits inside a sphere and the camera moves around the document on that sphere.
- lon: the position of the camera on the longitudinal axis
- lat: the position of the camera on the latitudinal axis
- radius: the distance of the camera to the document
- Camera target: This determines the position of the document in the window by moving the camera around the document.
- x: Move the document along the x-axis
- y: Move the document along the y-axis
- z: Move the document along the z-axis
You can use the buttons "use current as start" and "use current as end" to set the start and end point for the animations.
Position the document in the viewer and click on one of the buttons. This will apply the parameters of the current view in the sequence.
(For use with the "camera target" you will need to set the view using the input fields at the top right of the window and then click on one of the buttons.)
